VHA Reginal Procurement Office (RPO) 2 is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing VISTA Inventory Scanners. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 334290. VA LOGISTICS SERVICE The Logistics Service supports the facility in purchasing high quality, cost-effective health care products and services. The service also works to standardize health care supplies, equipment, and services through aggressive contracting, and by monitoring logistics data. The service oversees purchasing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, medical and operational supplies, prosthetics, high-tech medical equipment, and other critical patient care items to NYHHS. VA NYHHS logistics/warehouse operations are trying to find ways to provide efficient, faster service and reduce errors. While the battle for efficiency is an endless race, logistics technology solutions like barcode scanners hold an essential place in the efforts of meeting these requirements. Handheld scanners have become the standard solution for warehouses to increase efficiency and reduce errors across receiving, picking, shipping and inventory operations. Handheld scanners play a critical role in automating data collection in warehouse operations. They are capable of reading labels at light speed without errors. Quickly and accurately capturing information also increases the flow of information between logistics and the using service. As supplies are scanned during the process, the captured information can be shared with multi services or integrated systems. Objectives The VA NYHHS Logistics Service is seeking sources to provide the following brand name or equal offering the following salient characteristics. Kwedge 7.0 for Android Desktop Software Model# M040C Mfg Brand Name: MSS Software Qty: 3 VA Patient Privacy and Network Infrastructure None of the equipment listed within this procurement package will access the VA Network or store any sensitive patient information. Any contractors that will come on site for install will not need access to VA network. All contractors must comply with VA regulation and complete the following training: VA Privacy Training for Personnel without Access to VA Computer Systems or Direct Access or use to VA Sensitive Information. Reference the attached Handbook 6500.6 Appendix A - Checklist for Information Security in the initiation phase of acquisitions. The system does not transmit or maintain electronic Protected Health Information. A Manufacturer Disclosure Statement for Medical Device Security (MDS2) form in not applicable. A VA Directive 6550 Pre-Procurement Assessment form is not applicable. Recalls The Vendor shall immediately notify all affected VA Medical Centers and designated POC in the event of a device recall, removal, required adjustment, or required modification that is suggested or mandated by the Vendor, distributor, manufacturer, or any regulatory or government agency. The following information shall be included in this notification: A complete item description and identification (to include lot and serial numbers where applicable); Administrative identification data including order numbers and order date; Reasons for recall, removal, adjustment, or modification; and Instructions for appropriate corrective action. Defective Items/ Warranty Equipment will come with already established manufacturer s warranty.
