This is a Presolicitation Notice Only. No contract shall be awarded from this Pre-solicitation Notice. Project Number 632-21-116, Installation of Mixing Valves, at the Northport VA Medical Center (VAMC), 79 Middleville Road, Northport, New York 11768. VA Directive 1061 and Northport VAMC Policy 042 requires that potable water point of use outlets be equipped with hot water mixing valves to control the temperature of hot water at the outlet, and thereby reduce the risk of scalding of employees, patients and visitors using hot water. The hot water supply should be raised to 140 degrees F to reduce the risk of Legionella bacteria growth. Mixing valves are used to reduce the temperature at the hot water outlet. This requirement will include buildings where people stay overnight. This is an employee, patient, and visitor safety issue. There is also a need to replace hot and cold water stop valves at locations where the existing valves do not operate properly. Replacement of pedal sink faucets is also included as part of this project. This procurement will help Northport satisfy the requirements of VA Directive 1061.The capabilities needed are standard plumbing and mechanical hardware installation in a hospital and office setting. Project completion is estimated to be 210 calendar days from notice to proceed. The requirement will be issued as a Service-disabled Veteran-Owned Small business (SDVOSB) set-aside in accordance with Public Law 38 U.S.C. 8127 and 8128 and VAAR 819.203-70. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 238220 and the Business Size is $16.5 million. In reference to FAR 36.204 Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects, the range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All other details and information shall be contained in the solicitation, which shall be posted on www.beta.sam.gov. The solicitation will be released on or about May 10, 2021. The response instructions will be included in the solicitation. There is expected to be a pre-bid site visit of representative areas under the project. This project requires bonding and all responses/submissions to the solicitation shall be electronically. All prospective offers must be currently registered in www.sam.gov, www.dnb.com (Duns and Bradstreet) and be registered and verified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) in www.vip.vetbiz.gov at the time of offer submission and before award of this procurement. ***End of Description***
