VHA Reginal Procurement Office (RPO) 2 is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing Surgi Count Safety sponges. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 339113. Interested parties MUST provide company/individual name, a capability statement, examples of same or similar work performed at other facilities, DUNS number and address, point of contact and social-economic. Interested parties who do not submit the above information on or before the response due date and time will not be considered for this procurement. Please review the attached Statement of Work attached herein. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification/socioeconomic status (service-disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, women owned small business, HUB Zone, 8(a), small business or large business), relative to NAICS 339113. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Scope: The system will consist of 6 SurgiCount tablet kits and SurgiCount 360 software and will be an upgrade to the existing SurgiCount system already in use at the Northport VAMC. This system accurately tracks surgical sponges utilizing uniquely identified laparotomy sponges, gauze and towels to provide real-time count, in conjunction with manual count, so the O.R. team can confidently close the patient. The accompanying software provides accurate post-operative and fully compliant documentation. It allows access to both individual procedure reports and aggregate data to provide auditable evidenced based outcomes and enhanced patient safety. Period of Performance: The Northport VAMC requests a base plus 4 option year contract. Option year one shall begin maintenance and repair services. Service of equipment shall be at no cost to the government for one year beginning at the time of installation and approval by the Northport VAMC COR or POC. The contractor shall deliver equipment within 4 weeks of contract award unless otherwise specified by the VAMC COR or POC. The contractor shall deliver the equipment where specified by the COR or POC. The contractor shall provide all installation and training which shall be coordinated with the COR or POC. Other: The system will scan the patient ID bracelet to obtain the ss# of patient, then a random number will be assigned for individual procedure reports and aggregate data. The SS# is not stored in the system. Vendor does not have access to the VA server.
