The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified vendors with special interest. No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2, and the Bronx VAMC in Bronx NY anticipates a purchase order for the following: Heat on Demand Advantage Activator, 208volt by Aladdin Temp Rite or Equivalent The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 335210 (Small Electrical Appliance Manufacturing) Interested vendors are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.12, prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications in conjunction with FAR 4.11 required registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to award of a contract. Scope of Work The Bronx has provided a cook chill advanced tray meal delivery service for many years. Over this next year, we will be transitioning to a full Room Service cook serve style meal delivery. This change is in effort to support Patient Centered Care and Patient Experience to improve patient satisfaction. With the new meal delivery system, the quality of the food served to our Veterans will be greatly enhanced. Additionally, Veterans will be able to make daily meal selections from a broad, restaurant style menu. Room Service has become the industry standard to deliver nourishing meals in healthcare food service. Room Service contributes positively to the Veteran experience, by providing Veterans with their choice of foods when they want it, putting true meaning to Veteran-centered care. Much of the focus on the movement towards Room Service includes improved satisfaction. Room Service has been shown to not only yield improved satisfaction with food, but also impact the overall satisfaction with the healthcare experience. Implementing Room Service is a National Strategic goal for Nutrition and Food Service. The induction pellet heater system is required in order to do this. Objectives: Procure the introduction pellet heater meal delivery system. Train staff on use of this new equipment. Create room service menu and train staff on the new room service process. The following information shall be included in this notification: A complete item description and identification (to include lot and serial numbers where applicable) Administrative identification data including order numbers and order date Reasons for recall, removal, adjustment, or modification Instructions for appropriate corrective action. Warranty: Minimum of 1-year warranty on all products. 7.) Training: The vendor will be responsible for providing manuals and training the VA employees on the products to ensure that all staff are fully trained and completely competent to perform the required work.
