This is a Request for Information (RFI), this is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ) or Request for Proposals (RFP). This is not a solicitation announcement and no formal solicitation exists at this time. This notice is issued solely for market analysis to gain knowledge of potential vendors qualified under NAICs code 339113, which includes corresponding index entries such as surgical appliance and supplies manufacturing with a NAICs size standard of 750 employees. The required period of performance is planned for a base year plus four (4) one-year options. Responses to this Sources Sought notice will be utilized by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this Sources Sought notice, a solicitation may or may not be published in FedBizOpps (FBO) The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Officer (NCO) 2, and VISN 2: New York/New Jersey VA Health Care Network has an ongoing program to furnish orthotic devices/appliance and related services (including but not limited to custom orthotics, braces, diabetic shoes, inserts, elastic supports for joints, stockings, compression garments, other new devices and repairs) which includes a range of supplies/services that shall encompass Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System HCPCS L codes. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This notice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if issued. This announcement is based on the best information available at this time and is subject to future amendment. This Sources Sought notice is to identify commercial sources with the resources and capabilities to provide eligible Veteran beneficiaries within VISN 2 (facilities listed below) with the proper fitting and fulfillment of orthopedic shoes and inserts (both standard and custom) in strict accordance the prosthetic prescription that has been provided by the VA Amputee Clinic team. EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: All Contractors shall have a full time American Board Certified (ABC), or Board of Orthotist-Prothetist Certification (BOC) orthotist on staff in good standing at each of the proposed service locations through the contract period.
