The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research, not a solicitation, and invites quotes for one new 2025 or newer ADA-compliant transit bus, brand-name-or-equal to a Chevy Champion Challenger, for the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, ME. The bus must seat approximately 12–14 passengers, provide at least two wheelchair positions, and include a rear-mounted 800 lb wheelchair lift, dual-panel wheelchair doors, securement systems, and other ADA/paratransit features. Required systems include a gasoline chassis with minimum 14,200 lb GVWR and 177-inch wheelbase, dual-compressor A/C and hot-water heat, integrated electrical controls, a 1250W inverter, multi-camera DVR, multimedia/PA audio, and USB-A/USB-C ports at each passenger seat. Interior and exterior requirements include mandatory black full-body paint, black padded vinyl ceiling/walls, wood-look resilient flooring, overhead luggage racks, LED lighting, safety equipment, and minimum bumper-to-bumper, flooring, chassis, and powertrain warranties. Delivery to Togus VA Medical Center is included in total pricing, and the bus must arrive fully functional, inspected, tested, ADA-compliant, with manuals and as-built electrical diagrams.
