This solicitation is being issued as a total small business set aside. The limitations of subcontracting, as described in FAR 52.219-14, will apply to any potential contract. If award cannot be made, the solicitation will be cancelled, and the requirement resolicited. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, intends to solicit proposals from contractors to provide shredding services in support of the Providence VAMC, 830 Chalkstone Ave. Providence, RI, 02908-4734 and associated CBOC locations. NAICS Code is 561990 (All Other Support Services) with a Small Business Size Standard of $12.0M. The product/service code is R614. The VA anticipates issuing a solicitation for this requirement on or about November 1, 2021. Proposals will be accepted for a two-week period commencing with the issuance date of the solicitation. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of the solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website, and no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide instructions to contractors about the proposal submission process. DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION SHREDDING SERVICES Providence VAMC and associated CBOCs Description of Services: The Contractor shall provide document destruction services for Government documents containing sensitive, confidential and medical records. The Contractor maintain liability insurance for the duration of the contract and shall follow all pertinent federal and state regulations with regard to transportation and destruction of medical documentation. Prior Government contract work is not required to submit a response under this RFI synopsis. The intent of the project is to award a firm fixed price purchase order agreement for one base year and four possible option years with the possibility to award a single or multiple BPA based on location. The NAICS Code is 561990 and the size standard is $12 million. This notice is published to conduct market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) capable of performing the requirements to warrant a solicitation set-aside.
