The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to solicit for the following: Sterilization Containers Introduction: These Containers will be used to Sterilize Surgical instruments. The present containers use a container system that requires the instruments to be placed into a container then wrapped with Surgical wrap. The containers being purchased allow the instrument to set in the container and not be wrapped. Purpose: To sterilize surgical instruments in containers without using surgical wrap. Background: Currently SPS uses two different types of containers, some with that require the container to be wrapped in surgical wrap before sterilization and another that does not. Failure in sterilization can happen when the wrap in torn, ripped or compromised. Purchasing containers that require no surgical wraps will eliminate sterilization failures or compromises in infection prevention related to avoidance of rips, tears in wrap. TASKS AND ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES: Once delivered there is no required set up, staff are familiar with these containers and can assemble the sets on site in the department General Contracting Information The Government intends to award a firm fixed price contract resulting from the solicitation to the responsive offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and will be most advantageous to the government in terms of price and other considered factors. The Government is setting aside this procurement for a small business concern (SB). The applicable NAICS code is 339113 with a size standard of 750 Employees. Solicitation 36C24120Q0420 will be available for download from Contract Opportunities on May 24, 2021 or a few days later. The close date will be on May 24, 2021 at 4:00 PM EST time. All prospective offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to award of the contract. Registration may be accomplished at www.sam.gov.
