This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract for 1 Leica Proveo 8 ophthalmic microscope with Melling Medical, 658 South Columbus St, Alexandria VA 22341 for the Boston VAMC. Due to the affiliate relationship with Boston VAMC and the proprietary nature of the equipment involved, Melling Medical, is the only vendor that can provide service support for this requirement. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). The applicable NAICS code is 333314 with a 500 employees size standard. The PSC is 6650. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
