Request for Information (RFI) # 36C24120Q0213 (VISN 1 Solid Waste and Recycling Services) This is a request for information (RFI) seeking information and feedback from industry in regard to the VISN 1 for Solid Waste and Recycling Program Services. This information will be used for preliminary planning purposes only. No quotes are being requested or accepted at this time. This is not a solicitation and no contract shall be awarded from this RFI. The purpose of this RFI is to gain industry feedback on the capabilities of Solid Waste and Recycling Services for an entire VISN. Also gain knowledge of the interest, capabilities, and qualifications of potential contractors that would be interested in a future solicitation. All interested parties responding to this RFI should submit the following information: Company name and address, point of contact with phone number, and DUNS number. Company socio-economic status to identify business as being an SDVOSB, VOSB, Small Business, Hubzone, 8a, Woman Owned, EDWOSB, etc. Primary NAICS for this procurement will be 562111 (Solid Waste Collection) with a small business size standard of $38.5 Million. Documentation relating to capability of performance. If an SDVOSB or VOSB, provide proof of registration in the VA Vet Biz website and verification by VA Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) or intention of registration prior to submission of offers to a solicitation. All interested firms must be registered in SAM (www.sam.gov). All interested SDVOSB or VOSB firms must be registered in VETBIZ.GOV and Verified by VA CVE and registered in SAM to be eligible for award of Government contracts. Is your treatment plant(s) in compliance with local, state, federal regulations? Do you have an electronic manifest database that customers can track and maintain their Waste Manifests? Is your company currently licensed to perform in the New England states? Will your company be able to start services immediately at the time of notification of award; estimated effective date of June 1, 2020? Will your company be able to provide varied sizes of new, reusable, sealable containers within 14 days of request? How can the Department of Veterans Affairs reduce waste, cut costs, enhance the resilience of Federal infrastructure and operations, and enable more effective procedures to accomplish the mentioned list? How can the Department of Veterans Affairs increase efficiency, optimize performance, eliminate unnecessary use of resources and protect the environment? What is your company s average percentage rate of recovery of generated waste for recycling and composting? Does your company practice environmentally sound management through combustion with energy recovery and landfilling practices that meet current standards or newly emerging waste conversion technologies? Does your company have a cost-effective and environmentally friendly disposal method or alternative for all the leftovers? What is your company s method to minimize food waste as much as possible?
