The Department of Veterans Affairs Financial Services Center requires medical terminology and coding training for its employees and supervisors who process medical claims. The training must provide a fundamental understanding of terminology and codes, apply to those with little to no experience, and promote knowledge retention through innovative learning strategies. Each training session must be inclusive, provide program materials, and award a certificate upon completion. This is a new requirement.
