The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Redmond Communications Inc, DBA Directions on Microsoft, 1410 Market Street, Suite 200 Kirkland, WA 98033 for 16 federal employees to attend the five-day Microsoft Licensing Boot Camp training held during July 2023 and October 2023. The training is a Virtual-based courseware with a Virtual Instructor-led Training (VILT) which will provide critical knowledge and understanding needed to drive maximum value from VA s Microsoft investments. Topics will include: Key Microsoft licensing concepts and terminology Licensing models, use rights, and rules for major on-premises products such as SQL Server and Windows 10 How online services such as Microsoft 365 are packaged and licensed How to map software use to type and quantity of licenses required How to license products under virtualized scenarios Key items to consider while preparing for your next EA negotiation Design solutions in a way that minimizes licensing costs Budget more effectively for upcoming deployments Translate architecture into the necessary licenses Interact more effectively with your reseller and Microsoft representative Choose the most appropriate volume program for your company Identify compliance issues before you are audited Time license purchases to maximize discounts, lock in prices, and reduce maintenance payments This proposed purchase order is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. This is a "Notice of Intent" and not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. Interested parties that feel they can provide the services may respond to the point of contact listed in this notice no later than 10:00AM ET on July 5, 2023. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
