Description of Need: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to The Escal Institute of Advanced Technologies doing business as SANS Institute, LLC, 11200 Rockville Pike Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD 20852 for the procurement of virtual on-demand training courses, pre-testing, and certification exam vouchers offered by the SANS Institute for a period of four (4) months. The following courses are required: Course Name Description Training Seats Certification Exam Voucher SANS SEC488 Cloud Security Essentials 1 1 SANS SEC508 Advanced Incident Response, Threat Hunting and Digital Forensics 1 1 SANS SEC530 Defensible Security Architecture and Engineering 1 1 SANS MGT551 Technical Management Course for Leading Security Operations Centers (SOC) Operations 4 4 This action is for a single, firm-fixed price contract award to SANS Institute, LLC, on a sole-source basis, with a period of performance of four (4) months. A Justification & Approval (J&A) was executed pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. The procedures to be used in awarding a firm-fixed price contract is an oral solicitation with an anticipated award date of May 9, 2022. In accordance with FAR 5.207(16)(i), all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
