The purpose of amendment A0003 is to reclassify this requirement as a combined synopsis/solicitation in accordance with FAR 12.603, Streamlined Solicitation for Commercial Items, and re-open the solicitation as the Government has added additional clauses and language. This is a set-aside competition for small business interests. The requirement is for a Waste Stream Audit for Recycling opportunities at the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center (HHMMC), located in in Richmond, VA. The purpose of these audits is to help HHMMC determine the most cost-effective methods to manage recycling materials, develop strategies to minimize waste generated in its facilities, established a realistic and obtainable diversion rate, and verify vendor collection data regarding recycled material collected. This study will also be used to determine the feasibility of recycling these materials based on the regional market demand, and to generate estimated cost for recycling.
