Introduction. The goal of VHA is to create clear, sustainable and repeatable crucial conversation practices, both internally and externally, by utilizing the training products listed in this document. To date, approximately 3,689 VISN Supervisors have been trained on the ‘Crucial Conversations’ and ‘Crucial Accountability’ curriculum. These training products shall focus on various techniques regarding how to conduct crucial conversations in a positive space, particularly when the topics of discussion are intense and emotionally charged discussions. Historically, as evidenced by VHA’s previous use of various training products, the outcomes will provide valuable tools for VHA’s employees to conduct conversations with Veterans and other internal VHA employees. As such, the Employee Education System’s (EES) objective is to purchase training courses, and thereafter, assist the field offices in distributing these courses to the VISNs. Scope. This requirement is within the scope of ‘Professional and Management Development Training’. Vendors operating in this industry primarily engage in offering an array of short duration courses and seminars for management and professional development. Training may be provided directly to individuals or through employers' training programs, and courses may be customized or modified to meet the special needs of customers. Instruction may be provided in diverse settings, such as the establishment's or client's training facilities, educational institutions, the workplace, or the home, and through diverse means, such as correspondence, television, the Internet, or other electronic and distance-learning methods. Note, the VISNs have trained individual(s) to facilitate the courses, thereby eliminating the need to use outside instructors. Note: Please see the two attachments (PWS and RFI questions)
