The goal is to increase the number of VA clinicians (physicians and advanced practice providers) who can translate rapid genomics advances into clinical genetic cancer risk assessment, precision treatment, management, and preventative care. VA seeks to engage a vendor that has an established track record of genomics education and certification for medical clinicians (physicians and advanced practice providers) in the United States. The VA requires this course to include a self-directed curriculum in which the VA providers can engage in training/education on their own schedule and at their own pace. The vendor must provide a post-test assessment to ensure that course objectives have been met by each student as well as for documentation of competency. Student progress and/or competency status must be kept by the vendor and reported to VA on an annual and ad hoc basis.
