The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information & Technology (OIT), Connectivity and Collaboration Services (CCS), Core Network Services (CNS) has a requirement for brand name Riverbed Technology, Inc (hereinafter referred to as Riverbed) hardware, software licensing and maintenance. VA must complete a lifecycle refresh of the Riverbed Steel Central NetProfiler infrastructure, which is currently in place and responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on network traffic. This comprises the lab and the four (4) VA Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) Gateways where continuous network monitoring mechanisms are in place. In-depth information on network traffic and application performance may be gleaned with the help of Riverbed NetProfiler. Riverbed NetProfiler is a network performance monitoring and diagnostics system which provides the Core Network Services with a common operating picture, enabling the VA to gain additional capabilities throughout the packet capture process with enhanced capabilities into its network architecture, network speed, user experience, and security preparedness.
