The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), has a requirement to consolidate multiple procurements for brand name Cognex DM-CT2 scanners pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 7.107-2. The brand name Cognex DM-CT2 Scanners are essential to support the mission of the VA enterprise. The benefits of the acquisition would substantially exceed the benefits that would be derived from alternative contracting approaches. As this effort will be limited to Vendor Information Pages (VIP) verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providers under the Space Administration (NASA) Solutions for Enterprise Wide Procurement (SEWP) Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), there is no impact to small business, most specifically SDVOSB concerns. Therefore, a determination has been made that a consolidation of contract requirements is necessary and justified.
