Synopsis- Notice of Intent to Sole Source The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the Veterans Affairs Department of Veterans Affairs, Technology Acquisition Center intent to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price sole source contract with Mumps AudioFAX, Inc. s (MUMPS) AudioCARE Systems Software located at 744 West Lancaster Avenue, suite 250, Wayne, PA 19087 for the purpose of obtaining RxREADY continued software maintenance, helpdesk support, software module support, and training, a web-based interfacing system used to issues text and phone reminders to Veterans to notify them when prescriptions or refills and renewals are due using VA s VistA Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture and Computerized Patient Record System. The Government intends to negotiate solely with MUMPS per FAR ) 6.302-1 entitled, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. MUMPS developed this interfacing system which has been in use for several decades at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As the original developer of this interfacing systems, only MUMPS possesses the ability to maintain the software due to its unique and specialized knowledge of the underlying software code and customized interface to VA s computerized medical records required to provide for the required software maintenance and quarterly updates. The proposed action is for the RxREADY continued software maintenance, helpdesk support, software module support, and training. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541512, with a size standard of $30 million. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations.
