This is a Request for Information (RFI) only issued for conducting market research. Accordingly, this RFI constitutes neither a Request for Quote (RFQ) nor a guarantee that one will be issued by the Government in the future; furthermore, it does not commit the Government to contract for any services described herein. VA, Office of Information & Technology (OIT), Infrastructure Operations (IO), has a requirement to modernize and replace specified International Business Machines (IBM) mainframe platforms (Central Processing Unit (CPU) complexes) and mainframe virtual tape system (VTS) located at the Austin Information Technology Center and the disaster recovery CPU complex at Philadelphia Information Technology Center. This project will provide for on demand scaling of the mainframe CPU complexes and mainframe virtual tape system and will include regular hardware upgrades/refresh and maintenance for all associated equipment over the life of the agreement. The Government is pursuing an on-premise Capacity Services Model (not a lease) solution. The Contractor will enable VA to use the mainframe CPU complex and mainframe VTS hardware and associated services for each of the identified sites. The attached draft Performance Work Statement, Price Schedule, Attachment A - Price Spreadsheet and Cover Page contain additional information concerning this effort.
