The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration (MARAD) is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for replacement of the main propulsion engine turbocharger onboard the Training Ship, State of Maine (TSSOM). The TSSOM is homeported at the Maine Maritime Academy, in Castine, ME. The Main Propulsion Engine is a MaK Model 6M601, Serial #63087. The existing Turbocharger is an ABB Model VTR501-2P, Serial # 363140. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement.
