The Government intends to solicit from a single source for the purchase of an upgrade to its exisiting data acquisition system used for recording crash test data of tests undertaken at the Federal Outdoor Impact Laboratory (FOIL). To accurately capture the impact events during a crash test, this data acquisition system upgrade has to be compatible with all of the existing FOIL instrumentation collecting data. This synchronization is performed through a proprietary hardware and software created by Diversified Technical Systems Inc (DTS). This crash testing requires thorough documentations of the impact event using sensor data and visual images to provide a complete understanding of the physics of two bodies colliding. Documentation has evolved to include a host of digital sensor devices and digital imaging equipment that allows test data to be readily captured, stored and analyzed on computers. The complete upgrade for the data acquisition system purchase will include high speed digital video camera control console cameras meeting the following specifications: • 3 SLICE PRO LAB SIM (18ch); automotive bandwidth, 350 ohm bridge • 2 SLICE PRO Baseplate Kit for Ethernet Controller + 2 SIMs • 1 SLICE PRO Ethernet controller The intent of this notice is not to request competitive proposals, and any information received from interested parties will only be considered solely for determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted. However, interested parties may submit a description of their firm’s capabilities for satisfying this requirement, which demonstrates they possess the ability to successfully perform this effort.
