The Federal Aviation Administration contemplates issuing a Screening Information Request (SIR) for a Cab Glass Replacement at the RDU ATCT in Morrisville, NC. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: This project requires the removal and replacement of a single 1 ½" insulating glass unit located in the cab of the Air Traffic Control Tower. The top of the glass elevation is approximately 203' above ground level. The glass pane is trapezoidal in shape and must be measured on site to determine the exact dimensions. The IGU is constructed with two 1/2" annealed float glass lites separated by a ½" air space. Work shall include all labor, materials and equipment to complete the following: 1. Perform and gather accurate measurements for the required replacement IGU. 2. Contractor is advised of the presence of lead in the paint on the existing frame and structure – see section 3.9 of this specification. 3. Remove the existing damaged 1 1/2" thick IGU and properly dispose of the unit. 4. Provide and install a properly sized replacement IGU in accordance with the drawings and specifications. 5. Provide a warranty in accordance with specification 08 88 58. 6. Clean new IGU in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. 7. Clean project site and restore to original condition. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) and proposals are not being accepted from this public announcement. At this time, the nature of the competition has not been determined. The FAA may decide to do a Full and Open competition or a Set-Aside for small businesses or eligible socially and economically disadvantaged businesses that are certified by the SBA for participation in the SBA's 8(a) program. The purpose of this pre-solicitation is to solicit statements of interest and capabilities from small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, 8(a) certified firms, and all other business types and sizes capable of providing the type of work described in this notice. In order to assist with acquisition strategy development and to gain a better understanding of the commercial marketplace, the FAA requests the following information from interested vendors: A. Relevant experience on projects of similar scope within the last five years. Provide specific contract numbers, contact names, and email information to support claimed capabilities. G. Number of years in Business Failure to respond to the Pre-solicitation may preclude a contractor's ability to receive a copy of the future solicitation. Limit complete responses to no more than 5 pages. Information provided will not be released; however, mark PROPRIETARY on all documents submitted as necessary.
