The FAA is issuing a Request for Information to gather industry feedback on its updated acquisition strategy and the use of innovative training technologies for the next generation of Air Traffic Controller Training Support Services. The FAA intends to transition from a Time & Materials contract structure to a firm-fixed-price structure, in line with federal policy, and seeks input on mitigating cost and performance risks. Training services will be performed at the FAA Academy for centralized foundational training and at over 300 field facilities nationwide for localized delivery. The FAA specifically requests industry feedback on designing a fixed-price contract that incentivizes continuous innovation without requiring complex contract modifications.
