The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires a contractor with staff holding Industrial-Organizational psychology degrees (or a related field) to develop and validate a new pre-employment selection test for its nearly 15,000 air traffic control specialist positions (or more simply, controllers). This new assessment will replace the current pre-employment selection test (i.e., the Air Traffic Skills Assessment or ATSA). The contractor will conduct this effort in accordance with legal requirements including, but not limited to, the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures (1978) and current professional guidelines including SIOP Principles for the Validation and Use of Personnel Selection Procedures and Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing. The project will be conducted in a series of phases, each represented by a separate CLIN.
