MARKET SURVEY ANNOUNCEMENT Low Impact Resistant (LIR) Structures, Parts and Equipment Notice This Market Survey is being issued in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) AMS Section T3.2.1.2 (A) (1) (b) as a Sources Sought Market Survey. Please be aware of the following: (a) All vendors responding to this announcement are responsible for ensuring that documents submitted contain the appropriate proprietary marking; (b) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Market Survey; (c) The FAA will not pay for any information received, or costs incurred, in preparing the response to the market survey; (d) Your response to this survey will be treated as information ONLY. Introduction/Purpose The FAA is seeking companies that have the current capability to manufacture any and/or all of the following ancillary equipment, in accordance with the following part numbers, FAA Specification 2702 and Advisory Circular 150/5220-23.This equipment will be used for the Low Impact Resistant (LIR) structures and equipment used to mount PAR-38 and PAR-56 Lamp Holders for the Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (MALSR) and High Intensity Approach Lighting System with Sequenced Flashing Lights (ALSF-2) Systems. Nature of Competition A procurement strategy has not been determined at this time; however, the FAA anticipates that either an unrestricted competition or a set-aside will be chosen depending on the responses to the market survey. 4. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code The NAICS code for this requirement is 335129: Other Lighting Equipment Manufacturing. If other NAICS codes are believed to be appropriate, industry responses should identify and explain why the additional NAICS codes should be considered under this market survey. 5. Submittal Requirements for Market Survey Respondents must provide written documentation that demonstrates their ability to meet any of the requirements listed below. All responses (one per company) must include a transmittal letter on company letterhead. Respondents may not use a font size smaller than 12. Requirements: In response to the survey, the FAA requests that each potential vendor: Identify which items of ancillary equipment listed above in Section 2 the vendor produces and provide documentation of capability to produce that ancillary equipment. Provide documentation showing that the equipment has been tested and/or approved by the FAA; Describe its capability to produce fully operational production line capable of producing equipment within 180 days of award; Otherwise demonstrate that it has other legal rights, knowledge, ability, time, or competitive pricing to meet the FAA’s requirements. 6. Delivery of Submittals Written capability responses must be received no later than 5:00 PM EST 08 29, 2022.
