Maritime Administration (MARAD) intends to acquire on a sole source basis the services of Worldwide Diesel Power to repair the Main Engine Cylinder Heads on the TS Golden Bear. The Government intends to solicit the proposed contract for services with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit offers. To be considered contractors must demonstrate they can provide a technician with necessary experience (of at least 5 years) repairing the no longer supported Enterprise R5 V16 diesel engines and cylinder work. Referenced Statement of Work is attached. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received before the response date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
