TX FW LGA 10(5) Steve Thompson Wildlife Drive
The Steve Thompson Wildlife Drive project is located at Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge in Cameron County, Texas, approximately 25 miles east of Harlingen, on flat terrain. Work includes full-depth reclamation of the existing driving surface, consisting of chip seal and gravel, followed by adding new aggregate surface course to create a consistent-width driving surface. The project also includes an aluminum gate, a small concrete pad, safety improvement signs, and speed bumps. Three alternate aggregate surface course items are included, with only one to be awarded: Alternate 1 adds 2 inches on Bayside Drive and Steve Thompson Wildlife Drive ending at Renee’s Overlook Parking Area; Alternate 2 adds 2 inches on Bayside Drive and Steve Thompson Wildlife Drive; Alternate 3 adds 3 inches on Bayside Drive and Steve Thompson Wildlife Drive ending at Renee’s Overlook Parking Area.
