This HUBZone set-aside project is located in Billings County, within Theodore Roosevelt National Park near Medora, ND, and involves approximately ¾ mile of Buck Hill Road rehabilitation, 1,000 linear feet of deep subexcavation to address a landslide, and reconstruction/expansion of the Buck Hill Overlook parking lot. Work includes new hot asphalt concrete pavement, roadway aggregate, guardrail replacement, paved ditches, concrete curb and gutter, drainage inlets/culverts, striping, signage, accessible parking, sidewalk, trash receptacles, and stone benches. Major quantities include 11,000 CY of subexcavation, 2,000 tons of hot asphalt concrete pavement, 5,000 tons of roadway aggregate, 550 LF of 24-inch HDPE culvert, 5,100 LF of curb and gutter, 650 SY of sidewalk, and 1,600 LF of guardrail. The anticipated schedule is advertisement in October 2026, award in January 2027, and construction from April 2027 through November 2027. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000; the contractor may close Buck Hill Road during construction, and a Paleontological Monitor will be present for all ground-disturbing activities.
