THIS IS NOT AN INVITIATION FOR BID, PLAN AND SPEFICIATIONS ARE NOT AVAILBLE PROJECT NUMBER: CA FLAP SCRT5(1) PROJECT NAME: Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Central Federal Lands Highway Division (CFLHD), in cooperation with Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), is proposing to develop a 7.5-mile multi-use bicycle and pedestrian trail that would extend along the RTC-owned railroad corridor from Wilder Ranch State Park north to Davenport in unincorporated Santa Cruz County. The Proposed Project consists of developing a multi-use trail that would include an asphalt paved path with unpaved gravel shoulders. In addition, two parking lots along Highway 1 would be improved providing visitor amenities and ADA access to the trail. The figure below provides a visual summary of the project location. PRINCIPAL WORK ITEMS: 38,000 cubic yards of roadway excavation 18,000 cubic yards of reinforced soil slope 500 square yards of sculpted shotcrete 1,500 square feet of rockery retaining wall 3,000 cubic yards of special rock embankment 32,000 tons of roadway aggregate 9,000 tons of asphalt concrete pavement 5.8 miles of full depth reclamation 2,200 linear feet pipe culvert (12 to 48 inch diameter) 400 linear feet of pipe culvert lining (24 to 48 inch diameter) 9,000 linear feet of 6-inch PVC waterline 32,000 linear feet of fence ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Advertise: Fall 2023 Award: Winter 2023/2024 Construction: Spring 2024 – Fall 2025 ESTIMATED COST RANGE: The anticipated cost range is between $25,000,000 and $35,000,000.
