PROJECT NUMBER: CA NP YOSE 500(7) PROJECT NAME: VALLEY-WIDE CONTINUOUS FLOW INTERSECTIONS PROJECT DETAILS: This project includes modifying roadway intersections, travel lanes, and signage and striping to promote free-flowing conditions for visitor vehicles on Yosemite Valley roadways. This project implements the modifications piloted in the summers of 2021 and 2022 and includes work on Northside Drive, Southside Drive, Curry Village Drive, Happy Isles Loop Road and El Capitan Drive, and modification of two existing shuttle stops to accommodate resulting changes in circulation patterns and shuttle routes. Yosemite Valley daily traffic counts can reach 6,000 to 7,000 vehicles on weekends and holidays. All of the work is occurring in cultural and natural resource sensitive areas and there are numerous environmental constraints that will affect the construction schedule and type of operations. Great attention to detail will be required in achieving customer satisfaction in areas of roadway and parking lot construction, traffic control, visitor relations and timely completion of work. Principle work items include: 1,000 linear feet of stone curb, 4,500 linear feet of concrete curb, 500 square yards of concrete sidewalk and median paving, 200 tons of asphalt concrete pavement, type 1, 400 square yards of asphalt sidewalk, 400 tons of roadway aggregate, 16 miles of pavement markings, waterborne, and; 100 each, sign systems SCHEDULE: The anticipated advertisement date for the project is February 2023 with construction anticipated from April to August 2023. ESTIMATED COST RANGE: Total estimated cost between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000 This will be solicited as a Full & Open competition.
