PROJECT NUMBER: CA FTBL DUMONT DUNES (1) PROJECT NAME: DUMONT DUNES ROAD PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is located approximately 70 miles southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada in the California desert, and is on primarily level terrain. The general scope is considered 3R and provides improvements to Dumont Dunes Road starting from the intersection with State Highway 127 and continuing east for 3.9 miles. A new road template will be established, and aggregate road base and an asphalt concrete pavement surface added for 3.1 miles. The 0.1-mile Little Dumont Dunes Road will have similar improvements starting from the intersection with State Highway 127 (approximately 3 miles south of Dumont Dunes Road). The last 0.75 miles of Dumont Dunes Road will be improved with aggregate road base. An existing low water crossing of the Armargosa River will be reconstructed. Schedule A consists of the first 3.1 miles of Dumont Dunes including the low water crossing, and Little Dumont Dunes. Option X consists of adding surface aggregate to the Incident Command Center parking area. Option Y consists of resurfacing the remaining 0.75 miles of Dumont Dunes Road past the low water crossing.
