Sources Sought for Douglas DC-3 Initial and Recurrent Pilot Training
The FAA is conducting a market survey to identify sources capable of providing commercial off-the-shelf Douglas DC-3 initial and recurrent pilot qualification training for Flight Standards Service and Aircraft Certification Pilots under an attached Performance Work Statement. The survey seeks statements of interest and capabilities from all business types and sizes—including small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and SBA 8(a)-certified firms—to help determine whether adequate competition exists and whether set-aside opportunities are appropriate; the competition type is not yet determined. Interested vendors should provide a capability statement covering training types for each aircraft, relevant past-performance contract information, SAM UEI number, years in business, the geographic area where training will be provided, and their expected approach to performing the work. The applicable NAICS code is 611512 (Flight Training) with a $34 million size standard. The FAA will not pay for information received or costs incurred in preparing responses, and responses will be used for informational purposes only.
