The FAA seeks an Investigative Interviewing course to equip employees with ethical, outcome-based interviewing tools. The course will cover the P.E.A.C.E. Model—Plan and Preparation, Engage and Explain, Account–Clarification and Challenge, Closure, and Evaluation—to help obtain reliable information appropriately. Training applications include Safety Hotline, Whistleblower, Suspected Unapproved Parts, certificate management, supplier control, quality system audits, ODA/designee inspections, SMS assessments, and compliance/enforcement investigations. The PEACE model is identified as the preferred, most ethical and transparent best-practice approach, emphasizing open-ended questions and fewer leading questions.
