The FAA requires conversion kits to modify ATCBI-5 rotary joints at ASR-8 facilities to support compatibility with the new RSR architecture. The contractor must furnish all labor, facilities, equipment, and materials to fabricate each kit according to the specified parts list. The contract includes one first article unit, which must be delivered within 90 days after receipt of order. The FAA will have 30 days to accept or reject the first article, and upon approval, an option for up to 39 production units is available, with delivery due within 180 days after notification of approval. The conversion adds an additional signal path for Weather Signal transmission through the rotary joint.
