The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source contract to Communications and Power Industries (CPI), Beverly, MA for Evaluation and Repair Services for the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) Klystron Tubes, NSN# 5960-01-360-3639. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. Communications and Power Industries is the only known source that can provide the repair and services to the TDWR Klystron tubes manufactured by CPI. CPI is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of this equipment. CPI exclusively owns the proprietary data rights for this Klystron tube and has not authorized any other vendor to repair the tubes. A market survey (6973GH-23-MS-00003) was posted to the SAM.gov web site on October 26, 2022. No responses were received in response to the market survey. The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $30 million.
