The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for Commercial Off-The-Shelf/Non Developmental Items (COTS/NDI) UPS equipment that will provide conditioned, uninterruptible electrical power to support critical National Air Space electronic systems. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 335999. This Request For Information (RFI) is requesting industry feedback/comments. The Request for Information (RFI) is not: Request for Offers or Request for Proposals; Seeking or accepting unsolicited Proposals; or, Reimbursing respondents for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to this Market Survey. Any costs associated with the market survey submittal are solely at the interested vendor’s expense. The purpose of this RFI is to promote the exchange of information to improve the understanding of the FAA requirements and industry capabilities, thereby allowing potential offerors to judge whether or not they can satisfy the FAA’s requirements. The RFI will also serve to enhance the FAA’s ability to better define its requirements, obtain quality supplies and services at reasonable prices, and increase the efficiency in proposal preparation, proposal evaluation, negotiation and contract award, prior to releasing a solicitation. The FAA currently defines the requirement for project management, configuration management, engineering/technical support services, test and evaluation, quality control, logistics support, training to include virtual training and unrestricted access to the use and capabilities of the software diagnostic tool. It also defines the technical support services needed to perform engineering work, installation/construction work for power systems, power systems ancillary equipment, and structures. The RFI Documents are: Statement of Work (SOW) UPS Equipment Specification Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Specification Battery String Testing Specification Please provide Industry feedback/comments and corporate capabilities in writing, to Edward.B-ctr.Wright@faa.gov, no later than 30 days from the issuance of this RFI announcement. This RFI shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire the referenced UPS equipment and services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the FAA shall arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI, and the FAA’s use of such information. Responders to this RFI may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their received industry comments.
