See amendment 001 attachment.* The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Secure Border Initiative (SBI) is a comprehensive multi-year plan to secure America’s borders and reduce illegal immigration. The initiative addresses both border control and interior enforcement. SBI is part of the overall initiative designed to provide Customs and Border Protection (CBP) the resources and capabilities necessary to achieve border control. The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC) will serve as an independent government entity providing engineering, technical and logistics services to support CBP in the areas of Integrated Logistics Support, management consulting, primary inventory control point, provisioning and repair of CBP equipment. The FAA requires repair services (inclusive of extended warranties and non-warrantied repairs), purchases and engineering studies/analysis for the Northern Border Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) Electro Optical (EO) Cameras, Pan Tilt Units (PTUs) and the System Sensor Ball Assembly mounted on the CBP Mobile Video Surveillance System (MVSS) skid. The Sensor Ball Assembly ensures the continued operation of the surveillance equipment, while the MVSS units are deployed in remote locations along the U.S. southern border.
