Sources Sought Maritime Administration Scrap Metal Pickup at Beaumont Reserve Fleet (Beaumont, TX) and Division of Gulf Operations Warehouse (New Orleans, LA) The Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration is issuing this sources sought as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to purchase and remove metal scrap from contractor provided bins at BOTH of the following sites (1) the MARAD Beaumont Reserve Fleet, located in Beaumont, Texas and (2) the Division of Gulf Operations (DGO) Warehouse, located in New Orleans, LA on an on-call basis. The contractor shall provide a roll off dumpster or bin which will be loaded by MARAD personnel. MARAD personnel will notify the contractor within five business days of required picked up. MARAD personnel will complete a scrap pick up form after the truck is weight at departure and provide it to the contractor. The scrap will be sold to the contractor by pound. Scrap to be sold: Mixed metals generally including Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Stainless Steel, Galvanized metals, Brass & Tin **May contain trace amounts of other metals. Approximately weight of scrap: 5,000lbs – 15,000 lbs per pickup, per location. Locations: Beaumont Reserve Fleet (BRF) 2600 Amoco Rd., Beaumont TX Pickup Schedule: As needed (typically every 3 months). Division of Gulf Operations (DGO) Warehouse Poland Street Wharf Berth 3, Door 38 New Orleans, LA 70146 Pickup Schedule: As needed (typically every week/biweekly). The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 423930 Recyclable Material Merchant Wholesalers. There is no solicitation at this time. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
