UPDATE 1/28/2021 This update notifies industry of a change to NAS VoICE near-term market research and acquisition schedule related to the Ground-to-Ground Protocol Converter (GPC).Based on comments from industry provided on December 13, 2020 in response to 693KA8-21-RFI-GPC-01, the FAA had planned to release Spec Draft 2 updates to its Ground-to-Ground Protocol Converter (GPC) specification and IRD and solicit additional industry feedback on January 28, 2021. The planned release date was shown in the Attachments/Links PDF file titled “693KA8-21-RFI-VoICE-05 Security Requirements FAA VoICE 20201214”, Section 1 table, item number 5, Ground-to-Ground (G/G) Protocol Converter (GPC). The GPC Spec Draft 2 will not released as planned. The FAA is continuing to refine its updates and plans now to release updates and solicit additional feedback on March 14, 2021. The FAA plans to also release an updated set of VoICE Security Requirements on March 14, 2021. Those updated security requirements will be based on comments expected from industry on January 28, 2021. ORIGINAL NOTICE: The purpose of this notice is to: (1) Provide an update to anticipated NAS VoICE near-term market research and acquisition schedules (2) Provide draft documents and request feedback on Section 2, FAA Anticipated Security Requirements: a. Attachment 01, VoICE Security Requirements Document dated December 14, 2020. This is the first release of the draft document. b. Attachments 02-08, Security DIDs and templates all dated December 14, 2020 (see below for details) referenced in Attachment 01, VoICE Security Requirements Document dated December 14, 2020.
