The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is asking for feedback and conducting market research to determine if there are any contractors to support the Federal Lands organization located across the country for this future requirement. An overview of the required services and intended outcome is provided below. The purpose of this request for information (RFI) is to introduce the concept of an application in which the FHWA is interested. This application will be referred to as Federal Lands Funds Workflow System (FWS). FHWA envisions FWS as an application that could be used to standardize the funds management process within Federal Lands Highways (FLH) by implementing and leveraging a new Funds Workflow System. Using this new system, FLH will load allocations as well as actual commitments, obligations, and expenditures to accurately track their project costs. Processes will now be completed through standardized, guided workflows that will be used throughout all of FLH. Implementing these recommendations will enforce a standardized process for FLH to follow. It will also allow for a visible and transparent process for funds management, leveraging automation to ensure that processes are efficient and accurate.
