Sources Sought-Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) testing- Steel-Backed Timber Roadway Barrier

This is a sources sought notice for market research, not a solicitation, to identify qualified contractors for crash testing of roadway safety hardware. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requires a contractor to perform crash testing on Steel-Backed Timber safety hardware devices (a barrier, transition, and terminal) used on off-National Highway System roads. The testing will follow the AASHTO 2016 Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH) to accelerate the move from older NCHRP 350 criteria. Successful MASH test results and standard details will be shared with the transportation community. The notice is for planning purposes to determine availability, capabilities, size status, and procurement method; respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding.
