Pursuant to 13.106-1(b), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to solicit from a single source with Florida International University Division of Research to support co-sponsorship of the International Accelerated Bridge Contraction (ABC) conference that is scheduled to occur during the week of December 7-9, 2022 in Miami, Florida. Florida International University is the only source that can provide co-sponsorship of the International ABC conference. A sole source contract supporting the co-sponsorship of this conference to the Florida International University ABC center is being considered because the event, which is focused on ABC, is being administered and promoted by this agency. No other non-profit or State DOT agency within the United States is conducting an event that is strictly focused on ABC. The intent of this notice is not to request competitive proposals, and any information received from interested parties will only be considered solely for determining whether a competitive procurement should be conducted. However, interested parties may submit a description of their firm’s capabilities for satisfying this requirement, which demonstrates they possess the ability to successfully perform this effort.
