The Federal Lands Highway Office of Bridges and Structures currently is using Bentley’s Geopak Rebar detailing software. The software is no longer a supported software by Bentley and is not compatible with the Windows 10 update. Additionally, the software feature may soon be disabled. ASA Bar list is the only off?the?shelf simplistic software compatible with ongoing projects at the Federal Lands divisions that will have minimal impact on current production. The software has been used previously on older projects and based on the office’s past use, the software’s learning curve is minimal. Other software will require detailing in 3?dimension which will require substantial additional PE hours to projects, and is not practical for the typical rehabilitation projects that are designed in?house. With Bentley’s Geopak Rebar going down very soon, this could stop production which will result in substantial project delays. The purchase of this software will arrest any lack of tools for our designers and keep bridge design activities on?going on projects.
