The purpose of this notice is to obtain the following information: 1. The availability and capability of qualified resources; 2. Whether they are a small or large business relative to their size classification under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for the proposed acquisition 332111 – Iron and Steel Forging with a small business size standard of 750 employees. Requirement Description: The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) is a wholly owned U.S. Government corporation within the U.S. Department of Transportation which owns and operates that portion of the St. Lawrence Seaway in U.S. territorial waters between Lake Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. GLS’s mission is to facilitate the safe and efficient passage of commercial vessels through the Seaway which includes maintenance, repair and/or replacement of structures and facilities. GLS is tasked by the USCG with the operation and maintenance of approximately 211 aids to navigation along the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario. GLS has a requirement to purchase items for the proper mooring of USCG floating aids to navigation buoys (Split-key Shackles) to river bottom as per USCG specification No. 417-D for the fabrication of 3rd class and 4th class split-key shackle assemblies and 3rd class split-key/pin spares. Reference drawing # 121079D and USCG specification No. 417-D for the fabrication of shackles, Modeer shackles and swivels. GLS requires the procurement of the following in accordance with the attached USCG specifications and drawings: Quantity Fifty (50): 3rd class (1-1/2”) split-key shackle assemblies as per design, called out in Drawing # 121079D, Spec: 417-D, bare steel finish, Made in USA. Quantity Twenty-five (25): 4th class (1”) split-key shackle assemblies as per design, called out in Drawing # 121079D, Spec: 417-D, bare steel finish, Made in USA. Quantity Fifty (50): 3rd class (1-1/2”) split-keys/pins spares as per design, called out in Drawing # 121079D, Spec: 417-D, bare steel finish, Made in USA. Submission: Interested firms shall submit the following: 1. Name of Company; Company Address; Point of Contact, with Name, Phone Number and Email; NAICS Code, Unique Entity Identification Number (UEI), CAGE Code, and Socio-Economic Size Status (Large/Small Business/HubZone/8(a)/Woman Owned Small Business/Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business/etc.) 2. Provide a capability statement that lists three projects similar in scope, completed in the last 3 years. These projects may involve split-key shackles supplied to entities outside of the federal government. Brief descriptions of the relevant projects shall be provided along with contact references for each project. (Not to exceed 3 pages) 3. Respond via e-mail to purchasing@dot.gov. All communications must be sent via email to purchasing@dot.gov. Respondents to this notice should not anticipate feedback with regards to their submission other than acknowledgement of receipt. GLS reserves the right to review late submissions but makes no guarantee that they will be reviewed. Results of this Notice will not be provided.
