The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) plans to issue a contract to restore deteriorated concrete on vertical faces of the Eisenhower Lock vertical lift gate recess. The vertical lift gate recess is located adjacent to the upstream side of the miter gate sill approximately 50 to 100’ below the top of the lock wall working surface. The project includes all labor, materials and equipment to rehabilitate an estimated 3,350 square feet area of deteriorated concrete in the approximately 46’ wide by 80’ wide recess. The work comprises removal of unsound concrete and placing new concrete to restore original profiles. The contractor may use dry mix shotcrete application methods or conventional formed cast-in-place concrete. The work also includes the requirement to muck out accumulated debris and rubble at the bottom of the recess to expose concrete for restoration. The contractor shall provide all lights, heat, work platforms, materials and personnel access, water and all other utilities that are required for the work. Work shall be completed between on or about January 11, 2022 and on or about March 5, 2022. The invitation for bid (IFB) will be released for bids on or about August 23, 2021 with bids due on or about September 22, 2021. The estimated project cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled on September 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM ET. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
