The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) will be soliciting an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to demolish existing concrete surfaces for follow up repair by others. The demolition would take place at Eisenhower Lock’s Vertical Lift Gate (VLG) pit wall and the Snell Lock north intake manifold (tear drop). The work includes furnishing all labor, materials and equipment to demolish portions of previously damaged concrete utilizing ACI methods. This work also includes furnishing lights, heat, water and all other utilities during construction. The north intake manifold is located at the upstream end of the north culvert and is approximately 100’ below the top of the lock wall working surface. The VLG pit at Eisenhower lock is located approximately 80’ below the working surface and the wall extends up approximately 35’ and is about 80’ wide. All locations will require a crane and/or lift/scaffolding to access the areas safely. All demolition of damaged concrete shall be removed by the contractor and all edges shall be saw-cut, jay hooks installed and wire mesh/reinforcement to be installed for future dry mix shotcrete placement. Work shall be completed between on or about January 11, 2021 and February 15, 2021. The IFB package will be released for bids on or about August 7, 2020 with bids due on or about September 8, 2020. The project cost range is estimated to be between $100,000 and $500,000. Prospective bidders are highly encouraged to attend a site visit that will be announced within the IFB. This is a total small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation.
