Remediation and Restoration Activities
The Volpe Center, supporting the FAA Facilities Environmental Cleanup Program, requires a contractor to conduct a Remedial Action removing lead- and PCB-contaminated soils at QPI RCAG in Matawan, NJ. The contractor must comply with federal, state, and local requirements, using the most stringent where inconsistent, and prepare draft and final Remediation and Restoration Work Plans covering soil remediation, disposal, restoration, permits, a Site Safety and Health Plan, and a Risk Management Plan. The Work Plan must incorporate review of government-furnished information and disposal methods/sampling/paperwork, while the FAA’s LSRP selects and approves disposal facilities; confirmatory sampling is already complete. The draft Work Plan is due within 10 business days of project kickoff, followed by a 5-business-day Volpe Center review and a final Work Plan due within 5 business days of receiving comments.
