The U.S. Department of Transportation, John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center), Cambridge, MA has a requirement for (1) 120-ton rear-cab switcher locomotive for Crane Army Ammunition Plant, Indiana, and (1) optional 140-ton cab-forward (short nose) switcher locomotive for Fort Bliss, Texas. This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and pursuant to FAR Part 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. This acquisition is being conducted as a Small Business Set-Aside (SBSA) and the Government intends to award a single firm fixed price purchase order. Inquiries: Offerors shall submit questions, clarification requests, or other inquiries pertaining to this solicitation no later than 1:00pm Daylight Savings Time on, May 29, 2024. Any questions received after this time and date shall be answered only if determined by the CO to be in the best interest of the Government.
