This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE Order under FAR SubPart 13.1, Procedure, 13.106-1(b)(2), Soliciting from a single source for purchase exceeding simplified acquisition threshold and SubPart 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items, 13.501(a), Sole source acquisitions. Circumstances of the contract action deem that the specified brand name product is only available from one source, the manufacturer. The government intends to solicit and award an order for a quantity of 350 firearms; Manufacturer: Beretta USA Corporation / Model: 1301 Tactical Shotgun to include accessories and training services. This requirement is in support of the necessary operations of the Internal Revenue Service missions related to protection and safety of personnel in the performance of law enforcement operations. Specified product selected as standard duty equipment for field personnel based on close coordination with the National Criminal Investigation Training Academy (NCITA) and CI field offices in determination of the best equipment needed to meet operational needs and protection/safety of personnel. Specified equipment is unique to operations based on maintaining/leveraging consistency and standardization related to training, reliability and maintenance. Responses to this notice will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government to compete this contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability and respond to the requirement no later than 11 AM EST, Sep 15, 2021. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
